THE BRIEF

Create a digital experience  that emphasises the Livestrong cause and partnerships during the 2008 Tour de France.

THE INSIGHT

Chalk is all over the road in cycling tours. Fans take to the road, writing messages to their favourite athletes.

In the lead-up races to the tour, the Livestrong team started handing out yellow chalk to spectators and encouraged them to write messages of hope to cancer survivors.

THE SOLUTION

Meet Chalkbot, an early internet of things utility that translates digital messages into the physical space, allowing any one, anywhere in the world, to write a Livestrong inspired chalk message on the Tour de France route.

THE WORK

Users could login to the website, see others’ messages on the map, and write a message of their own.
